My professional experience is at the intersection of writing and design, primarily within the government sector. After completing an undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and then working for the State of Michigan developing language for welfare reform program policies, I relocated to California for five years. After being consistently drawn to the field of design, I pursued a Master of Fine Arts in Communications Design at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York. I am grateful to now work for the City of New York, writing about the projects and people behind the design, construction, public buildings, and infrastructure that shape New York City.
