My professional experience is at the intersection of writing and design, primarily within state and city government. After completing an undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, I worked as an analyst at the State of Michigan, writing and administering labor and economic development program policies. After a five-year relocation to California, I pursued and completed a Master of Fine Arts in Communications Design at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York to focus my career on design. I am grateful to now work for the City of New York, writing about the design, construction, and people that shape New York City.
